Türkiye’s first and largest producer and exporter of ceramic sanitary ware, Eczacıbaşı Building Products, began producing VitrA branded ceramic sanitary ware in 1958; faucets in 1983; bathroom furniture, bathtubs, and shower trays in 1991; and bathroom accessories in 1995.
Its plant in Bozüyük, Türkiye, is one of the world’s largest under one roof, with a production capacity of 5.6 million units per year. The company designs many of these products in-house and collaborates with renowned international designers and studios.
The international sales network serves approximately 21,000 retail sales points — including sub-dealers — and 150 exclusive showrooms in major international markets.
Manual Spreadsheets and Lack of Centralized Content Decelerate Time to Market
VitrA sells products across different categories — from furniture to fixtures to tiling. Managing product content is inherently difficult because each category has different manufacturing processes and part sources, which results in different master data goals.
Implementing a central source of truth that would organize all of this variable information was very challenging.
As a result, VitrA’s content lived in many different systems, including an enterprise content management (ECM) system, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and a digital asset management (DAM) system.
"It was completely manual for us to pull together a product record,” says Kübra Bülbül, master data manager at VitrA.
“Each part of the record lived in a different system or with a different team. Between reaching out to people via email and figuring out what information was missing across the systems, it took us two to three months to get our products ready for market,” she adds.
VitrA also faced challenges enabling their marketing teams to access and activate product content in their local markets.
“The local teams wanted to manipulate the data to be compatible with smaller retail channels in their geographies, but we couldn’t authorize them to touch the master data in our systems,” says Kivanc Incekli, senior sales and marketing excellence manager at VitrA. “So they were forced to work in spreadsheets or even hire third-party agencies to get the data how they needed it. Headquarters had no visibility into these hidden costs.”
“Instead of two or three sources for information, we have one central hub. We can now easily repeat processes across channels instead of having to start from scratch for each one.”

Salsify Becomes VitrA’s Product Information Management (PIM) and Syndication Solution
VitrA recognized the need for a product data management solution that would centralize and syndicate its content to various endpoints, easily transforming records to meet unique endpoint requirements.
Salsify’s unified Product Information Management (PIM) and Syndication capabilities helped them achieve both.
“We really needed a PIM, and we wanted it to be integrated with a syndication offering. We also needed DAM capabilities because asset management was a challenge,” Incekli says.
Easily Repeatable Processes and Improved Cross-Functional Alignment
Today, its team utilizes Salsify’s PIM, Syndication, Workflow, and Catalog Sites solutions. With Salsify PIM as their single source of truth for product information, VitrA has seen significant improvements in its process for creating product records.
“Instead of two or three sources for information, we have one central hub. We can now easily repeat processes across channels instead of having to start from scratch for each one,” Bülbül says.
Workflows have also helped keep cross-functional teams aligned throughout the go-to-market process.
“Using workflows, we’ve been able to create triggers when data is missing or incorrect, so we can proactively address the gaps. Previously, this had to be handled manually through emails and meetings. Now, anyone can run a workflow and quickly find and address the issue. This process has helped to build bridges between our teams internally,” says Yakup Ekici, senior master data specialist at VitrA.
Newfound Flexibility and Freedom
VitrA’s regional marketing teams can also now log in to Salsify and access easily editable data for their local retailers without affecting the master data, which was the headquarters’ concern.
“They can independently run their businesses and drive value for the business, and we can still see what changes they are making. The flexibility of the system and user rules grants them a freedom to work that they didn’t have before,” Incekli says.
“Today, it's obligatory to provide your data in a fast way to keep up with retailers’ and consumers' expectations. Moving fast is the only way to not fall behind on the digital shelf, so it's important to find and implement efficient solutions like Salsify that can bridge gaps between content sources and teams, making everyone’s jobs easier.”

VitrA Experiences Efficiencies as Time to Market Decreases
Reduced time to market is the most impactful result the VitrA team has seen since implementing Salsify. Getting products live on the digital shelf now takes the team “two weeks max” instead of the two to three months it previously took.
They’ve experienced major wins by reducing manual work, gaining greater visibility into how other teams are using data, and improving efficiency by centralizing all product data in one system.
“What we’ve learned through this process is that, in the digital world, content is king. If you aren’t properly managing your content from the beginning of your journey, you’re already losing the race,” Incekli says.
“Today, it's obligatory to provide your data in a fast way to keep up with retailers’ and consumers' expectations. Moving fast is the only way to not fall behind on the digital shelf, so it's important to find and implement efficient solutions like Salsify that can bridge gaps between content sources and teams, making everyone’s jobs easier,” Bülbül says.
