    Behavioral Email Triggers

Behavioral email triggers are conditions based on customers' interests or actions that, when triggered, cause automated email sends.

    What Are Behavioral Email Triggers?

Brands and retailers often use behavioral email triggers to automate their marketing and customer engagement initiatives. When a customer completes a certain behavior or action, the system will automatically send an email with a marketing message, promotion, or call to action (CTA) to that customer. If a shopper signs up for a newsletter, for example, the system might automatically send a welcome email. Alternatively, if a customer puts an item in their online shopping cart and then leaves the site, the system might flag that as an abandoned cart and send that customer an email with promotional information about the product in their cart. In these behavioral email trigger examples, the customer's action sparks the email send.
