    Content moderation is the process of reviewing and approving user-generated content (UGC) to ensure it's appropriate for and relevant to the brand.

    What Is Content Moderation?

    For a brand's marketing content to be effective, it needs to provide a consistent look and feel that resonates with the brand itself. User-generated content (UGC) can be incredibly beneficial for a brand, but it must be cohesive with the brand presence. Brands use content moderation to ensure that any UGC on websites or social media accounts aligns with the business' brand and style guidelines. A brand might remove a social post, for example, if the post includes insulting, offensive, or inappropriate language that doesn't align with the brand's values. Brands can moderate content manually, or they can use a content management system to automate the content moderation process according to custom filters.
