DownloadShopper journey mapping is the process of detailing the steps a customer takes as they become aware of a brand and then purchase a product from the brand.
The shopper journey involves multiple steps, from finding out a brand exists to researching its products and values, to engaging with them across many channels, to finally making a purchase. Shopper journey mapping is the process of using customer behavioral data to identify and enhance these steps.
In fact, shopper journey mapping relies on automated data-collection systems that provide brands with the insights they need, such as how a shopper moves through a website, what drives them to make a purchase, or what areas of the shopping experience cause them to abandon their search. With this information, brands can map out exactly how shoppers move from awareness to consideration to decision-making stages and, most importantly, make informed changes to each step to drive a smooth and engaging experience at each stage.
