    Contextual Commerce

Contextual commerce is the process of purchasing an item while engaging in another activity, such as driving or scrolling on social media.

    What Is Contextual Commerce?

In the past, users would have to dedicate time to traveling to a brick-and-mortar store to find the products they needed. With contextual commerce, however, consumers can shop even when they're doing other things, making the path to purchase simple and convenient. In many cases, brands employ contextual commerce within an omnichannel shopping experience. For example, a shopper might browse a website while riding the bus and then get home only to click "buy" on a social media post for the same product. By integrating purchasing opportunities into various locations, brands can enable shoppers to buy within a given context. This kind of contextual commerce gives shoppers convenience and flexibility, thereby boosting brand loyalty.
